Mrs. Deepti Athalye

Deepti is a very talented Bharatnatyam Dancer and Teacher. She started learning Bharatnatyam at the age of 8 from a Senior Guru in Kolhapur, Sri. Badrinath Kalkarni. Later, she came to Mumbai to study Advanced Bharatnatyam from one of the most reputed and specialized Dance College, “Nalanda Nritya Kala Mahavidyalaya” where she studied 7 years full time and completed Bachelors and Masters Degree. She has also got rigorous training in Bharatnatyam from various other Senior Gurus too. She has been performing and teaching since 2004. She has performed in many different places in India and USA. Other than many of our school events, she has also performed in different events of India Association, Indo-American Cultural Connect, SVK Temple in Phoenix. Currently, she is working as a faculty for Bharatnatyam Dance at our Phoenix Gharana School of Indian Arts since last 4 years. Prior to that, she has had 10+ years of teaching experience for two of the reputed organizations (Dadar-Matunga Cultural Center and Sangeet Abhinay Academy) in Mumbai, India. In addition to that, she has also worked as a Dance  Therapist for Central School for deaf children in Mumbai where she worked extremely hard and helped Mute and Deaf children to improve their communication skills through Bharatnatyam Dance.
